My current research focuses on growth and characterization of carbon nanotubes, various ceramics and magnetic nanoparticles, silicon-on-insulator materials, thin films, and integrated circuits.
The environmental related projects are entitled Green Chemistry Approach to Synthesize Nanoparticles for Waste Water Treatment and CO2 Absorption. The project is my collaboration with two research groups in Thailand. The first group are physicists from Khon Kaen University, who explore synthesis methods that use non-toxic and inexpensive such as egg-white, aloe vera, and lemon grass extract in producingZnO2, magnetic nanoparticles of ferrites, and various ceramics. An incentive is to explore alternative production methods that are more environmentally friendly than the conventional ones. The second group are researchers in the Department of Environmental Engineering from Naresuan University. They will study kinetics and efficiency of using nanoparticles in eliminating toxic chromium ion in waste water and CO2 absorption to reduce global warming.
