Systems and Industrial Engineering Minor

Students who pursue the Systems and Industrial Engineering minor will gain a basic understanding of how people, materials, machines, energy, and information should be designed and implemented to gain optimum system performance in both production and administrative settings. Students will learn how to design these industrial systems to use the least energy and resources while optimizing the output that is produced by the company or industry. 

Research Opportunities: 

SRC Engineering Research Center: The SRC Engineering Research Center develops new and effective technology to reduce the environmental impact of semiconductor manufacturing.  

Biosphere 2: Biosphere 2 is owned by the University of Arizona and is an Earth systems science research facility that focuses on the Earth, its living systems, and sustainability. The facility is located in northern Tucson and serves as a center for research, outreach, and teaching. 

BIO5 Institute: The BIO5 Institute is at the leading edge of life sciences research, bringing together researchers from agriculture, medicine, pharmacy, basic science, and engineering. The main goal of BIO5 is to find bold solutions to complex, biology-based challenges affecting humanity.
