IMPACT

A snapshot of IE's 2016-17 impact:
IE’s impact on Earth’s environment is subtle, yet significant. Natural and social science research by our own nationally and internationally renowned scientists and by those we support has honed public understanding of climate, climate change, and climate adaptation. This has given policymakers and natural resource managers the information they need to make decisions that protect lives, health, economies, and landscapes in Arizona and beyond.

We are a network, and as such we engage and connect partners to develop new solutions to protecting ecosystems and landscapes, reducing our reliance on carbon-emitting energy sources, bouncing back from climate-related disasters, creating more livable cities, and raising environmental awareness. We also invest in and amplify UA environmental excellence, funding faculty and graduate student research and salaries, educating students through talks and creative works by distinguished speakers and visionaries, and broadcasting UA environmental discoveries and advances across campus and to the world.
