Betsy Woodhouse joined the Institute of the Environment in 2009 and became deputy director in 2011. She is involved in planning and decision making regarding the institute’s goals, activities, hiring, budgets, and internal operations, including managing the communications team, events coordinator, and program coordinator. In addition, she co-manages the Water, Environmental, and Energy Solutions initiative. Betsy is a trained hydrologist and has worked as such in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining the Institute, she co-founded and published Southwest Hydrology, a trade magazine for water professionals in the Southwest. While directing its production for eight years, her responsibilities included soliciting, editing, and writing articles; marketing; and overseeing graphics, printing, business operations, and website management.
