Students for Sustainability

Students for Sustainability is an ASUA student government program that works to engage the student body in order to cultivate environmental literacy from many perspectives. SFS works to do this through the ASUA model of empowering student leaders, advancing social justice and equality, and in pursuing institutionalized sustainability at the University of Arizona and within the Tucson community.

Members make up the majority of the SFS body. Members are placed into a committee and attend both committee and general meetings each week. They are expected to complete 45 hours per semester, with 30 of those hours coming from their weekly meetings and 15 hours coming from working at events to promote and practice sustainability.

Committees:

  • Education Outreach
  • Energy and Climate
  • Food and Health
  • Garden
  • Waste Reduction
  • HydroCats
