Anita joined IE as Southwest Climate Adaption Science Center in August 2014. She is currently responsible for operational logistics which supports the successful execution of the Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center, a DOI/USGS funded cooperative agreement, under the leadership of Dr. Gregg M. Garfin. SW CASC’s mission is to work with natural and cultural resource managers to develop and deliver scientific information and techniques to anticipate, monitor, and adapt to climate change in the southwestern United States. Anita is well-acquainted with large Research I universities, having begun her career as Assistant Director of Research at CSULB. Anita fills the role of UA administrative nexus for six partner institutions, Colorado State University, Desert Research Institute, Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego, University of California, Davis, University of California, Los Angeles and Utah State University. This research team is comprised of 14 investigators and approximately 30 affiliated staff.
