SBESC is a student-run club for students majoring in Sustainable Built Environments. The club promotes and educates the campus and Tucson community about sustainable built environments in order to make our communities, buildings, and landscapes more sustainable. Members participate in events and projects, professional networking, and social events related to sustainable environments.
UA Geography Club members participate in community outreach programs, professional conferences, and events related to geography and development. Members work to create a dialogue around human and environment interactions across campus.
Solar Cats is a student group that focuses on advocating for solar energy on campus through projects and outreach in the community. The club’s mission is to bring environmentally conscious students of the University together in an effort to implement a means of harnessing solar energy as a power source for the University of Arizona.
The USGBC is a student-led organization that is interested in sustainable mechanical systems and design concepts. The club hosts speakers, proposes construction projects and works to grant LEED certifications within the Tucson community.
ASLA is a student-run organization united to develop and enhance the environment we live in through landscape architecture. This organization provides its members contacts with other students, schools and professionals locally and nationwide.
AIAS is a student-run organization dedicated to providing information and resources on issues critical to architectural education, including sustainable design. AIAS provides a sense of community for members and allows members to combine their efforts to advance the art and science of architecture.
The Eco-Reps are at the heart of the Residence Life Sustainability Program. They are volunteers from each residence hall who first learn about sustainable issues and then assist in educating others about sustainability within the residence halls. Eco-Reps help plan events and projects throughout the year, including Earth Day events, Recycle Mania and Battle of the Utilities.
