As a reminder, CCL is a non-partisan organization dedicated to convincing local, state, and national leaders to deal effectively with climate change. At our conference, student attendees hear from nationally-known speakers; attend seminars on lobbying fundamentals, climate science, and policy; and have an opportunity to meet and strategize with others committed to climate action. In recent years, our keynote speakers have included policymakers and climate leaders like Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Dean Rachel Kite of the Fletcher School, and Dr. Katherine Hayhoe.

At the end of the two-day conference, students join other CCL members from around the country to visit with members of Congress or their staff on Capitol Hill. They will learn techniques of respectful engagement and to meet people where they are at in order to move the ball forward on climate. This coming year, CCL expects to engage on topics like the farm bill, energy permitting reform, and reforestation efforts.
