Entomologist and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) specialist since 1995. Board member of the IPM Institute of North America. Serves on Federal U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Pesticide Program Dialog Committee. Co-directs the Western Regional IPM in Schools Work Group. Serves on the National School IPM 2015 Steering Committee, and the Advisory Board of the IPM Institute Green Shield Certification program. Subject Editor for Entomological Society of America, Journal of IPM. Also serves on National Institute of Food and Agriculture Western Region IPM Center Advisory Committee. Extension efforts include IPM implementation programs in public schools, and public housing, and include long-term impact assessments. Translational research studies focus on pest ecology and reduced-hazard management of public health pests, including venomous arthropods, disease vectors, bed bugs, and cockroaches. Liaise and support state and government agencies regarding, pollution prevention, pest management related children’s health issues, vector management, and environmental health professional education. Teach Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) accredited Public Health classes on IPM.
