ASUA Students for Sustainability is partnering with UA Facilities Management to bring about a recycling transformation on the University of Arizona campus through the Ready. Set. Recycle! initiative. This involves rolling out a set of new, uniform recycling bins within every building on campus. These customized UA bins have clear signage depicting what is and is not recyclable at the University of Arizona.
A framework was constructed to support more than 1,100 photovoltaic electricity panels, which will be placed above the garage's 25,000-square-foot top level. It is the first of a series of solar panel and solar water-heating unit installations to take place on campus in 2009.
Students and employees can receive free bicycle related services from our campus bicycle station. Most of the bicycle station attendants are bicycle instructors certified through the League of American Bicyclists. We can get you up and going and provide you with bicycle safety and riding tips. The bike station also provides free bike repair classes.
This project will develop pedestrian, bicycle, and fire lane improvements to the 5th Street corridor between Euclid and Tyndall Avenues. The proposed bicycle route will connect with the new City of Tucson 5th Street Bicycle Boulevard west of Euclid Avenue.
Zipcar is a car sharing/car rental program. Members can reserve Zipcars online or by phone at any time, immediately or up to a year in advance. Zipcar members have automated access to Zipcars using an access card which works with the car's technology to unlock the door, where the keys are already located inside.
Arizona Athletics in conjunction with University of Arizona Parking and Transportation Services will be offering Cat Tran Shuttles from Park Ave. Garage (located at the northeast corner of Speedway Blvd. and Park Ave.) to Arizona Stadium on game days. The shuttles will drop off fans on 6th Street, immediately south of the stadium.
BICAS comes by the University of Arizona campus every year and accepts bicycle donations to collect unwanted bicycles from students moving out of the residence halls. They use these bikes to sell in their annual auction.
