Incorporating AC Condensate into Rainwater Harvesting Systems

Flandrau is renovating its south lawn to provide room for outdoor displays and a patio café for students and staff. The design calls for harvesting rainwater from the building’s 5,000-square-foot roof. A system for collecting AC condensate will be added to the plans—potentially doubling Flandrau’s sustainable water supply, which will be stored in partially-sunken cisterns that will also function as outdoor tables and seating.
