The Urban and Regional Development minor deals with urban and regional issues, including regional growth and demographics, location of economic activity, land development, and real estate. Student will gain a basic understanding of how to analyze data and use geographic tools to address concerns regarding urban and regional development.   

Research Opportunities: 

Sustainable City Project: The Sustainable City Project serves as an educational and outreach interface between the University of Arizona and the Tucson community. The project  focuses on issues of sustainable urban development and livable cities through education, outreach, and research. The project is designed to build and support teams composed of university faculty and students representing a diverse array of academic disciplines.

Water Resources Research Center: The WRRC promotes understanding of critical state and regional water management and policy issues through research, community outreach and engagement, and public education.
