Environmental Research Grad Blitz Fall 2012

Join us November 8, 2012 from 3-6PM
at Tucson Marriott University Park!
The Institute of the Environment cordially invites graduate students, faculty, staff, and the community interested in environmental research to join us for our third Environmental Research Grad Blitz. Hor d'oeuvres and refreshments will be available and enjoyed after the presentations.
What is the Graduate Student Environmental Research Blitz?
The Blitz is designed to bring together graduate students working on environment-related research to present their research findings. Our goal is to showcase the excellent research UA graduate students are conducting. The event provides a special opportunity for students to share their work with other students, faculty, university administrators, and others. The Blitz provides a unique milieu for discovering opportunities for collaboration, sharing ideas and insights, and making acquaintances that may live long beyond the careers of the individual participants.
About the Format
The idea is for graduate students to present only their most salient findings to generate curiosity and excitement about their research. Blitz participants may present their results in one of two ways:
• A five-minute speed talk, including no more than three slides
• A poster presentation
For ideas, view previous Blitz presentations and winners here.
Awards
$200 will be awarded for the best presentation and best poster. The honorable mention in each format will be awarded $100.
