Food Day

Community Event

Wednesday, October 24, 2012 - 11:00am - 2:00pm

University of Arizona Mall

Event Description:

Food Day is a national, grassroots movement toward improving access to healthy, affordable, and sustainable food created by the Center for Science in the Public Interest. In 2011, over 2300 events took place across the country, engaging tens of thousands of Americans in education and civic activism. Food Day has the ultimate goal of strengthening and unifying the food movement and improving food policies by encompassing hunger, nutrition, agriculture policy, animal welfare, and farm-worker justice.

Our campus plays a strong role in this movement. Many departments are working hard to promote healthy, sustainable and affordable food at the UA. By joining together with a shared vision on October 24th  we will promote real food and inspire students, faculty and community members.
