Alfredo Huete is the principal investigator for the Terrestrial Biophysics and Remote Sensing project. He is working on isolating and characterizing soil and vegetation optical signals for environmental and global change studies with satellite-based sensors. Other areas of interest include satellite- and ground-based remote sensing of agricultural and environmental areas for extraction of soil and vegetation biophysical parameters, remote sensing techniques and models for environmental/global change detection over a wide range of biomes, and development of global and regional-based measures of the terrestrial surface with remote sensing.
